Laundry Love is a ministry of showing love by providing the means (quarters and soap) to our neighbors who wash clothes at a local laundromate. It was inspired by the relationships built between a companion from Beloved Community and neighbors who come to One Big Tent. This ministry began with Beloved Community volunteers and support and has since grown to include St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and Trinity Lutheran Church.  It is also supported by One Big Tent.  We continue to welcome volunteers and donations as we meet up at a laundromat on Wednesday mornings and Thursdays evenings to meet and serve our neighbors.

  • Mission: We are a partnership of diverse, faith-based organizations working within our community, alongside community agencies, to promote human dignity by alleviating poverty and isolation and providing ready access to resources that can increase the long-term stability of individuals and families, and therefore, our community.
Vision: We envision a Portage County where all are equipped and empowered to lead dignified lives of wholeness and wellness with:
  • food security
  • adequate mental health resources
  • housing security
  • economic and vocational stability
  • a correctional system based on restorative justice
  • a community engaged in justice and peace
  • faith communities growing in relationship and serving together
Join us! Volunteers can
donate time and be a companion to our neighbors, donate skills like: website management, social media content creator, grant writer, share One Big Tent's story and mission with other community partners to grow our network, serve on our Board, provide $ and resources for our neighbors

  • We have local household supplies for our neighbors
  • We support local drives (like diaper drives, food drives, etc) for local community
  • We support our neighbor ministries (like One Big Tent, Laundry Love, and Campus ministry)

Our Thrift Sale Ministry is all about providing funds to help our neighbors via One Big Tent. Currently, twice a year we host a two-day Thrift Sale with all the proceeds going to One Big Tent. We are hoping to open a more "permanent" location for our neighbors to shop and to be an income stream for One Big Tent.

Come to our upcoming Thrift Sale on May 16 and 17.

Call the office if you would like to volunteer in this important ministry!
